ESPEEKA DEE ENGLEE

whats that on the wall? its prolly my brains because Obama just blew my mind. This guy wants us to speak spanish? like all of us? as in a national language? like the USA will have TWO national languages? I love spanish people they are the bomb but let me break down the communication break down. If you can name me one country in the world that has TWO national languages and isn't 3rd world please tell me now cuz i cant think of any.

3rd world
india 7 national languages, 1,000+ dilects
philippines 2 national languages, 100 dialects
indonesia who the freak knows how many
Africa isnt there still uncharted land in africa?

1st world
USA, uno national languages
England, one
Germany, one
scottland, one
france, one
italy, one
greece, one

i could go on but for the sake of not i wont.

technacally you can say canada has two but come on really, no one really likes canada. nothing good has come out of canada, toronto bluejays, rapters, maple leafs, all subprime professional sports teams that will never win a chapionship anything.

Bottom line: its bad enough kids today have created their own txt language, Learning spanish will not make illegal immagrants any more American.

The US doesn't have a national language. English is the most common language but the "official" language is left up to the state. If I'm remembering correctly, and I think I am, there are a couple of states (not to mention territories of the US) that have two official languages.

And first world countries, especially western european countries, require that students become bilingual. It's a global economy now and it would be wise to learn at least one other language. I hope that it someday becomes mandatory for my kids to learn another language in school. I wish it had been when I was young. Now I'm just kinda lazy about it and haven't bothered.

well here is the argument, there is no "official language" at the federal level but there is a "National language" and that is english. also i would like to point out that i really don't agree with much of anything Europe does. i mean come on Spain, giving monkeys human rights? seriously? i could go on but that is an entirely different blog post. true the economy is global but elementary school is not. here is how it is, america bends over backwards trying to accomadate legal and in some cities illegal immigrants (again another thing i hate!) so do the minimum of learning the "Official Language"

How random that I checked your blog today?

I agree that when someone immigrates to a new country they should learn the language that is most common. What I don't understand is why you think it would be a bad idea for the rest of us to also learn another language. How could it possibly hurt? Why wouldn't we want our kids to learn as much as possible, especially when it would help them become successful when they are grown? As much as I wish I was still in third grade, we don't stay in elementary school. The purpose of going to school is to prepare us for the future and just knowing English isn't going to cut it. I read an article a couple of years ago on how wealthy families were hiring Chinese nannies so their kids would be able to speak fluent Chinese. Not a bad idea, especially now that the Chinese are buying up a large amount of our debt.

And did you know that birds have the right of way on the highways in Utah?
